Guest: Lynn Edmonds, Great Schools in Wake Coalition

Lynn gave an update on the purpose and activities of the Coalition. The group is a coalition of individuals and organizations concerned about Wake County schools. Their mission is “to provide accurate information to educate the public about policy initiatives that would impact the quality of education, to foster well-informed discussions about critical education issues, and to advocate for policies that improve public education in Wake County.” Lynn requested that the Change Crew join their coalition. The Committee unanimously supported Lynn’s request and recommended that this request be adopted by the North Raleigh Change Crew as a whole.

The Committee decided the goal for 2010 was to focus on Wake County education issues.
